Controlled Rock Blast Operations

The Ghana National Gas Company wishes to announce for the information of the general public especially farmers and those living in and around the Right of Way (RoW) that the company intends to conduct controlled rock blast operations at some parts of the ROW to facilitate the on-going line pipe trenching and safeguard the pipeline.

The operations shall take place in eight (8) specific areas near or around the following communities: Ashiem, Manpon, Mpohor, Isakuro, Adukrom, Awudwondule, Awukyere, Ndatiem, Anagyi, Kwekutsiakrum, Gyono (Jomo), Inchaban and any other section as may be necessary.

The operations shall begin on Wednesday, 27th of February 2013 and end on the 1st of March 2013.
The operations shall involve the use of explosive devices. As a result, vehicular and pedestrian movement shall be restricted to about 500m from the blast sites during the hours of operations.

The general public is hereby forewarned to stay away from the said areas in the interest of their own safety and convenience.
The general public is however assured that mitigative measures shall be put in place for control of ground vibrations, dust and to arrest fly rocks and stones.
