Dr Ben Asante
Acting Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Ben K. D. Asante, a renowned Oil and Gas Engineer, is the Caretaker Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas).
He has over 25-years global experience in the Oil and Gas industry. He is one of few black Oil and Gas engineers to have testified as an expert pipeline engineer before the US Supreme High Court.
He has also provided expert witness testimonies on gas custody transfer disputes in South America.
Dr. Asante is a Lecturer at the School of Engineering, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and a former Engineering and Technical Director of Ghana’s premier Gas Infrastructure project, which birthed the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant and allied gas infrastructure in the Western Region.
He is the mastermind of Ghana’s first Gas Master Plan in 2008.
He has also provided consulting, engineering services, project management, and technical support for various projects throughout the world, including the World Bank and Asian Development Bank (ADB). He has also worked in various technical and management roles for major Operating Companies and Engineering Consulting companies in Canada, including Nova/TransCanada; US and Ghana.
He was adjudged the Best Worker for the Year for Excellence at the global energy firm, Enron Corporation, in 2001.
Dr. Asante holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from KNUST, Ghana and MSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary, Canada. He also obtained a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London/University of Calgary, where he later taught Gas Processing and Pipeline Engineering.
He has published 15 technical papers and made over 80 technical presentations within and outside North America on Oil/Gas Infrastructure Design and Operations.
Mr George Amoako-Adjei
Mr. George Amoako-Adjei is the Commercial Director of the Ghana National Gas Company with responsibility for the Jubilee/Tano Basin/LNG gas commercialization.
He is a former General Manager, Commercial & Business Development of WAPCo, and Senior Manager, Corporate Finance of the Volta River Authority.
He received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance & Operation Research from the University of Edinburgh Business School, Scotland, and graduated with a first degree in Statistics/Economics from the University of Ghana, Legon.
He has worked with SG SSB/Social Security Bank and the London Borough of Lambeth/City Challenge Company Ltd as an Economic Development Manager.
ING. Robert Kofi Lartey,
EMBA, BSc, MGhIE, AMIChemE
Director of Operations
Ing. Robert Kofi Lartey is the Director of Operations at Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas) and a Chemical Engineer by profession.
He started his career as Process Engineer at the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) Ltd, Tema - rising to the position of Senior Process Engineer before he resigned to take up the role of Process Engineering Lead on the Western Corridor Gas Infrastructure Development Project (WCGIDP), implemented by the newly incorporated Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas).
Prior to his appointment as Director of Operations, Ing. Lartey served at different roles in Ghana Gas, including Engineering Manager and Manager, Gas Processing Plant.
He has professional experience in diverse areas, including chemical/process engineering, project management, procurement management, contract management, cost estimation, oil and gas facilities design, among others.
He holds to his credit an Executive Master in Business Administration (EMBA) in Strategic & Project Management from the Paris Graduate School of Management, Paris-France and a B.Sc. (Hons) Chemical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.
He is also a Corporate Member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers, Ghana and Associate Member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, UK.
